ISIS is no longer accepting presentation proposals for Sex::Tech 2010.

    Conference goals:
  • Explore research, policy, education, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs that use new technologies to enhance the sexual health of young people
  • Increase knowledge and awareness of successful, cost-effective, public and private technology-based STD and/or HIV prevention programs and projects
  • Share effective, and cost-effective, technology-based strategies for eliminating STD, HIV and sexual health-related health disparities among youth
  • Provide opportunities for skill-building, tech teach-ins, and networking among those dedicated to the sexual health of young people
The program committee welcomed any proposals that related to our conference goals. This year we were particularly interested in proposals that engage the following areas:
  • Mobile technology innovations for public health
  • Policy and advocacy for sexual rights
  • Sex education: information delivery in schools
  • Youth-led innovations
  • New social technologies
  • Effective partnerships
  • Web video/interactivity/animation
  • How-Tos for using particular technologies and how they could be applied to the sexual health fields
    Presentation format:
  • We are dedicated to creating the most opportunity for dialogue between presenters and attendees. We fully encourage interactive and non-traditional presentation formats. We also reserve the right to form panels where appropriate.
    Submission deadline:
  • To be considered for the program, you must prepare and submit your abstract according to the instructions by November 10, 2009.
    Evaluation criteria:
  • Abstract should relate to one or more overall goals of the conference and be of significant public health importance or be a tech tool that supports public health work. The purpose and objectives of your session must be clear and well described.
    Submission method:

    Confirmation:
  • We will notify abstract submitters whether the abstract is accepted or rejected by December 1, 2009. We cannot accept every proposal to present. If your abstract is accepted, you will receive a request to confirm availability to attend the conference and make the presentation. Information will be included in these subsequent communications on the type of presentation format, date and time of presentation, technical assistance needs and potential edits to program abstract.
